Her ticket to the masquerade got lost in the shawl vault. Despite being aware of and enjoying the Fleetwood Mac circle-jerk miniseries, Daisy Jones & the Six, Stevie Nicks has never heard of Stereophonic, the Tony Awards sensation that decisively swept this year’s competition. When asked by Rolling Stone if she was aware of the play, which was heavily inspired by the white-powdered dysfunction surrounding Rumours’ recording process, Nicks offered three questions in response: “What is that? Really? How in the world have I gotten this far without knowing about this?” (To which we respond: 1. A Broadway show! 2. Indeed. 3. No idea.) Perhaps it’s for the best: The sound engineer behind Rumours is suing Stereophonic’s playwright, David Adjmi, for allegedly copying key elements of his book that detailed the album’s creation process. There’s just too much firsthand news fit to print.
